Welcome to Wabisuke

  

Wabisuke is a traditional Kyoto-style house, called ‘machiya’, located in downtown Kyoto, near Sanjyu-sangen-do and Kiyomizu Temple.  It is nearly a century old cozy wooden house, remodeled beautifully and decorated with fine Japanese antique art pieces.

 At Wabisuke, we rent out entire house to only one group at a time, up to 4 guests.

 Come and enjoy a comfortable stay, and make your stay very special and unforgettable one by experiencing the traditional Kyoto living that you cannot experience in ordinary hotel or ryokan.

 AT YOUR ARRIVAL:

Please be sure your arrival be on time!  Our staff will wait for you at Wabisuke to hand over the key and will provide you a brief explanation of the house and the facilities.

If you are late for check-in time, please give a call.

There is no private parking available. If you come in by your car, please use the coin parking nearby.

 Sorry, no safety-deposit box is available.

Please make sure to lock all doors when going out, and do not leave any

valuables inside the house.  We are not responsible for lost or theft of your valuables.  Thank you.

 

【Prohibited matter】

  • No smoking allowed. Inside or outside anywhere on the property.
  • No pets allowed.
  • No shoes allowed in the house. 
  • Please do not roll or drag luggage across the floor,
  • lift up luggage to avoid damaging fragile tatami weaving and wooden floors.
  • Please do not use teacups in a microwave oven. 
  • They are not microwave-safe.
  • Please do not put strong-smelling food in the refrigerator.
  • Please do not get on  the any antique furniture.
  • Please do not place cups or any types of hot drinks directly on the antique furniture.  It ruins their antique vanishes.  Use coasters and saucers for drinks. 
  • Please avoid loud or excessive noise, especially at night.
  • No unregistered guests are allowed on the premises.

【Reservations】

 If you book the guest who live abroad, please click on the button below.

Please follow their way (airbnb). Accommodation expenses , cancellation fee,and so on.

Please give us a call for making a reservation for a room less than a week prior to your stay.  We could check the availability of the room and if possible, we could accept and confirm your reservation, immediately.

If you send me a fax, please write down Name , Address, E-mail address, Phone Number, Check-in Date, Check-out Date, Arrival Time, Number of guest, Number of futon (Japanese bedding), and Request / Questions.

We do not offer child rate.                          

Guests 6 years and older are considered as adult guests.

Children under 6 years stay free when sharing futon with parent(s).  But if the extra futons needed, charges occur as the numbers of futon required.

Therefore, 1 extra futon count as 1 adult guest.

 

【Payment in this case

We ask the guests to make payment at the time of your check-in.

 

【Cancellation charge in this case】

Cancellation fees apply depending on the date of your cancellation prior to the reserved date of check-in.

We ask for your understanding that for cancellations and changes of reservation contents, handling fee may apply.

 

 1 day before, on the day of check-in, and No-show /100% of the reservation

 Between 2 days and 1 week before check-in day /50%of the reservation

 

【occupancy tax】

From October 1, 2018, occupancy tax regulations will be enforced in Kyoto city. Therefore, if you stayed on or after

October 1, 200 yen per night per person must be paid in cash after arrival. Children under 6 years who sharing futon with parent(s) is not counted.

How to get to Wabisuke

Wabisuke is located on 5 minute walk from Kiyomizu- Gojo Station, Keihan line.

 

 If you are coming from JR Kyoto Station by bus:

Take the Kyoto City Bus No.100, 206 or 208 from bus terminal at JR Kyoto Station (takes about 5 to 10 minutes) and get off at Shichijo Keihan.  It takes 6 minutes to get to Wabisuke by foot.

 Or, take the Kyoto City Bus No.4, 17 or 205 from bus terminal at JR Kyoto Station (takes about 10 to 15 minutes) and get off at Kawaramachi-Gojo.  It takes 9 minutes to get to Wabisuke by foot.

 

 If you are coming from JR Kyoto Station by taxi, please tell the taxi driver to take you to "Honmachi Park", located on Honmachi-dori street. If you give a call as you get to the park, I can arrange to meet you up.

Wabisuke is located 1 minute walk distance from the park.

 

 There are two ways to come to JR Kyoto Station from Kansai International Airport:

Take either the JR "Haruka" Limited Express or the Airport Limousine Bus,

and takes approx 90 to 120 minutes to get to the JR Kyoto station.

 

 Choose the best way to get around to the  JR Kyoto Station, and to Wabisuke.
